I will head down to the North Market this next weekend to check it out.

Sher - hahahaha I am sure there are other people who didn't even know there was a "benign" meaning to the title to begin with! I will most likely get lots of "porn" hits from Google now.

RosieRosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240724592494697342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1142092120231794622006-03-11T10:48:00.000-05:002006-03-11T10:48:00.000-05:00By the way--my brain ain't what it used to be. Boy--I'm slowing down.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1142018010245029372006-03-10T14:13:00.000-05:002006-03-10T14:13:00.000-05:00I used to work in a butcher shop and we would have...I used to work in a butcher shop and we would have these lil old ladies come in and have us mince up cooked pork kidneys for their little puddy tats. Blegh! To this day I cannot stand the smell of kidneys.Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240724592494697342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1142005944304435332006-03-10T10:52:00.000-05:002006-03-10T10:52:00.000-05:00I can't remember where she saw it, but an expert s...I can't remember where she saw it, but an expert said that was a wonderful thing to do for a dog. Our dog was perfectly healthy and I think hard bones are supposed to be good for their teeth. My mom used to pressure cook beef kidneys for the dog too. That sure stunk up the house!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1141962731122269322006-03-09T22:52:00.000-05:002006-03-09T22:52:00.000-05:00Sher - I recently wanted to make some beef stock ...Sher - I recently wanted to make some beef stock and priced out bones - damn girl! I remember my mom paying pennies for them. Those damn boneless animals again, I suppose.

My parents used to give our rabbit killing poodle the bone out of the center of the round steaks, but I never heard of folks making "bone paste". Why did you mom do it?Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240724592494697342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1141962018574002912006-03-09T22:40:00.000-05:002006-03-09T22:40:00.000-05:00Ashley,If you guys over at Digital Vitals ever hav...Ashley,

If you guys over at Digital Vitals ever have a get together, I'll be glad to make a batch. It just one of those things you have to get over - like when you eat lil tiny fried fish with the guts still in. All aversions are learned. Otherwise we wouldn't have to take those pieces of floor crud out of our babes' mouths. In case your wondering, it really tastes like rich beef fat, not blood or anything weird The texture is like butter that has been partially melted. Nothing we really haven't encountered before. So give it a try - remember the rule: you have to taste everything once.Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240724592494697342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1141946560555283652006-03-09T18:22:00.000-05:002006-03-09T18:22:00.000-05:00I saw that episode, too, and they looked quite goo...I saw that episode, too, and they looked quite good. I'm a pretty adventurous eater, but I think this is one of those foods that I would feel very self-conscious eating...I wouldn't know how to begin...Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18213142762423369274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14015719.post-1141926685642716742006-03-09T12:51:00.000-05:002006-03-09T12:51:00.000-05:00I like marrow, but the last time I had it, my acid...I like marrow, but the last time I had it, my acid reflux went into overdrive. Remember when it was easy to get a soup bone? And you didn't even pay for it. Ahh-good times. My mother would get a lot of big bones and cook them in a pressure cooker until you could mash them up with a fork like boiled potatoes. It was a lot of fun to watch her do that. It wasn't for us, it was for our dog. But, I did taste it and it was.......not good!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
